Bring STEM One Step Closer for Our Girls in South Western Sydney

Inspired by the work of organisations striving to create amazing learning experiences for young people — including One Giant Leap and the iSTEM ME Program — our dream of creating an immersive learning space for our local community is one step closer to reality.

Thanks to Astronomers Without Borders, their BIG program, and their network of generous supporters, a fundraising campaign has been launched to help complete this project and bring it to life.

With the generous support of our major donor Star Stuff 2017 — Byron Bay’s festival of the cosmos — as well as many other wonderful contributors, we have secured funding for the main component of our planetarium structure and materials needed to begin construction.

Now we are working to supplement this grant by raising the remaining funds required to complete the material covering and pay for delivery of the planetarium components, with additional stretch goals to expand the project further.

Your support will help us build our astronomical community and bring students closer to the stars than ever before. This facility will allow students from our school, local primary and high schools, and the wider community to explore astronomy and the universe — independent of weather or access to equipment — right here in the heart of Sydney’s western suburbs.
